Rebel Wilson starts a music label

Rebel Wilson founded her own record label, Warner Music.

The Pitch Perfect star will direct Rebellionaire. The purpose of this new organization is to release soundtracks for musicals as part of their grant program.

“Replace the B in ‘billionaire’ and with an R you get Rebellionaire,” the actress joked in an interview with Deadline.

The first release from the new label will be the soundtrack to The Deb, which was originally a musical by Hannah Reilly. The musical was submitted to the Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission in 2022 and won first place.

Rebel Wilson announced that the soundtrack will feature ballads, a cappella songs, pop songs and “hip hop elements”. She added, “It has some hot lyrics, including a song called F**k My Life.”

Rebel Wilson created the Fellowship in 2019 to give young screenwriters the opportunity to receive her mentorship and advance their careers in the industry. Winners will receive a $15,000 drama commission and the opportunity to spend a year at the Australian Theater for Young People.

“Basically, one person wins the award and I mentor them for a year,” explained the Senior Year star. “And as part of that program, they have to put together a show, write it, and hopefully finish it before the end of the year. »

The Deb is about three girls whose lives are turned upside down after one of them is expelled from a luxury school in a remote town. Filming on The Deb is slated to begin in October in rural New South Wales, Australia.
