Recall of vacuum flasks due to possible lead problems in the bottom compartment

The Bindle Bottle company has issued a voluntary recall for its vacuum flasks, according to a notice posted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website on Thursday.

The recall notice said the affected products “may contain an area of ​​exposed lead in the lower storage compartment” that could potentially lead to unpackaged food contamination.

For those who eat such foods, it “could pose health problems,” the statement said.

Testing found lead in a bare solder point that was in the dry storage container at the bottom of the Bindle bottles, the release said.

Thirty-two 24-ounce, 20-ounce and 13-ounce bundle bottles are affected by the recall, in addition to the bottles included in the company’s Puppy Pack product if purchased before February 15 the notice and a FAQ page on the company’s website.

“Bindle Bottle knows you have placed your trust in us and we take the safety of our customers seriously,” the company said on its website. “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of this voluntary recall. At Bindle Bottle we pride ourselves on putting safety first and we will continue to stand behind our product line.”

The affected products were sold nationwide.

They were sold on the Bindle Bottle and Amazon websites. Retail stores and advertising distributors also offered them.

“Production of Bindle bottles has been suspended and will be refurbished in the future, eliminating the presence of exposed lead on future products,” the recall notice said.

According to the announcement, there were no reports of illness.

The company has set up a page on its website where customers can fill out a form to request a repair kit.

People who own the bottles should not use the bottom tray until they have received and used the repair kit, Bindle Bottle said. The stainless steel interior of the water bottles is “completely untouched” and can be used to store liquids, the company said.
