Several Jif peanut butter products sold in the United States are being recalled over possible salmonella contamination, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Friday.

The JM Smucker Co. issued a voluntary recall for the peanut butter it sells in retail stores and other outlets nationwide, the company said in a press release.
On its website, the FDA listed affected peanut butter products by code numbers, which range from 1274425 to 2140425.

JM Smucker said it is unable to estimate the financial impact of the recall but will provide additional information as it becomes available.
The last illness was reported on May 1, 2022. No deaths have been linked to the outbreak, according to the FDA.
The recalled Jif products were manufactured at JM Smucker’s plant in Lexington, Kentucky, according to the agency. The products have a two-year shelf life, so consumers should check all Jif peanut butters in their homes, the FDA said.
