Record announced the departure of Cesar Filho this Friday (22) in a statement sent to the press. The presenter left the command of Hoje em Dia early and his position will now be filled by Celso Zucatelli. In the early hours of Thursday (21) he announced his resignation at the station's party, fueling rumors of his move to SBT.

“Record announces that Cesar Filho is leaving the station and the command of Hoje em Dia this Friday. By mutual agreement of the parties, the presenter's contract ends on December 31st,” says the text sent by the broadcaster.

The note also states: “From Tuesday (26), journalist Celso Zucatelli, together with Ana Hickmann, Renata Alves and Ticiane Pinheiro, will be responsible for Hoje em Dia, which will be shown from Monday to Friday at 10 a.m.”

“We thank Cesar Filho for all his professionalism and partnership during the nine years in which he presented the Hoje em Dia and Aeroporto: Area Restricta programs and wish him much success in his future projects,” the message concludes.

What did Cesar Filho say at the party?

At the Hoje em Dia celebration, Cesar Filho said that many people already knew that he would not stay at the station. “I am nearing the end of a partnership after nine years with Record. I think we all here already know this. And a lot of people keep asking and questioning.”

“And when there are two companies, in this case my company and Record as a company, each has its own interests, each has its own desires. If in the end this does not happen, it is common and normal for everyone to go their own way,” the journalist continued.
