Almost thirty households are left homeless, relying on temporary workers or relatives, a situation unprecedented for organizations in the region.
This situation can be explained by the vacancy rate of 0.4% and the exploding real estate prices in the region.
In addition, seven families are staying in a hotel in the town of Rimouski, while other households have found temporary accommodation with an organization in the region.

“She has to come out on the field. She must ask the Council of Ministers for concrete help for the city of Rimouski to deal with this housing crisis and take care of the homeless,” denounced Michel Dubé, Action Populaire coordinator.
