Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth have reportedly “lived separate lives” as friends grow concerned about the future of their relationship. The couple recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary (wow, has it really been that long?!), but those close to them are reportedly worried that their very different lifestyles are causing them to drift apart!

The 46-year-old Big Little Lies actress reportedly has a very busy schedule filled with both work and family commitments, while the 52-year-old Hollywood talent agent “prefers a quieter life,” according to a source speaking to RadarOnline , ” and staying out of the limelight, which is why we don’t see them together on the red carpet as often as we’d like. The insider claimed that Toth “likes to get away from the noise,” adding, “The hustle and bustle that surrounds Reese is a lot, and at times, too much to handle.” Yikes!
“Jim is hardly ever with her and it wasn’t always like this,” added the source. “Friends are worried they’ve stopped doing work,” they continued, before going on to say that sometimes they can’t talk for days and when they do, it’s “usually about their son,” in Allusion to ten year old son Tennessee James Toth. A second source said that when the Oscar-winner “makes time for him” in her busy schedule, “he disappears to hang out with his buddies.” They added, “There were – and are – definitely issues in their marriage.”

Previous clues to troubles in paradise
This news might not come as a huge shock to those who know Reese and Jim, as reports say there’s been trouble in paradise for quite some time. Back in June, an unnamed insider told Us Weekly that the couple lived separate lives but put on brave faces for the sake of their son. But even when they were *together*, they weren’t “very affectionate with each other.”

“They come across as very cold and matter-of-fact,” the source continued. “The passion is non-existent and they live very separate lives. They’re both a business partnership and a couple, and that’s why they’re so mindful of their image right now.” The source added that Reese’s obsession with perfectionism didn’t help either. “She expects the best from everyone around her,” they added. “It made her rich and famous. And people take her seriously, but it can be exhausting being with Jim.”

The source added that the ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ star may have been in no rush to end things with Jim because of how he’s a great dad and also how he’s allegedly helping to improve her image. “Jim is a very hands-on father to her son and that has really allowed Reese to take Hello Sunshine to the next level,” the insider shared, referring to Reese’s production company. “Also, Jim makes Reese more likeable. People can relax around him, which was never really the case when it’s all about Reese. She can be incredibly perceptive and intimidating – and Jim softens her edges a lot.”

Reese and Jim met at a mutual friend’s house in early 2010, shortly after their split from Jake Gyllenhaal, and got engaged to him less than a year later. They married at Reese’s ranch in Ojai, California, in 2011 and had their first child together in September 2012. (Reese also has two children with her first husband Ryan Phillipe — daughter Ava, 23, and son Deacon, 19. Reese and Ryan married in 1999 and finalized their divorce in 2008.)
