Ava Phillippe started 2023 “with a bang.”
The 23-year-old daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe spent New Year’s Eve in hospital after suffering what she called a “bang” in her ankle.
“My clumsy self was trying to hop across a (very big) rain puddle in heels 🙃,” Ava commented on an Instagram photo of herself taken from the ER Saturday night.
“I feel pretty blessed right now to have a superstar friend and ER pal like @jadensanders_ in my life,” she added.
“She seriously kept me giggling for the entire hours we waited and only left my side once to get us some cozy dry clothes. I love you J. ♥️.”

Ava went on to tell her followers that she will “definitely” be adding “be gentle with my body” to her list of New Year’s resolutions.
“Don’t hesitate to share in the comments what you’re looking forward to in the new year or any resolutions you might have. I’d love to read them while holding my ankle up in bed!” She continued. “Wishing you all peace, love and good health in 2023 ✨.”

Meanwhile, Witherspoon, 46, took to her own Instagram to share a stunning beach snap with husband Jim Toth and their 10-year-old son Tennessee.

In addition to Ava, the “Legally Blonde” star shares 19-year-old son Deacon with Ryan. Her former Cruel Intentions co-star is also father to daughter Kai, 11, with ex Alexis Knapp.
Witherspoon recently spent Christmas with all three of her identical children.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star posted two family photos from her celebration via Instagram at the time, and wrote, “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours! 🥰🎄✨.”
