In the publication, Duarte said that “you can’t forget” what Bolsonaro did for the country and for Brazilians.
“You cannot, for the sake of justice, forget everything that President Bolsonaro has done for Brazil and Brazilians,” Duarte wrote on his Instagram, sharing a photo of the former president.
Lula succeeds Jair Bolsonaro
Presidentelect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) was sworn in yesterday (1 January) as the 39th President of the Republic. After 12 years, the 77yearold PT returns to Planalto Palace for his third consecutive term.
Lula takes the highest post in the country, bringing the PT back to the top of the federal executive branch. He will succeed Jair Bolsonaro, who was elected in 2018 with a common man’s speech, antiPT and anticorruption.
