The post drew criticism on social media. Users related the suggestion to the persecution of Jewish merchants during the Nazi era in Germany.
“In Nazi Germany, Jewish trade was marked with the Star of David. Defending similar acts is a great shame,” said one netizen. “I printed your crime of allusion to Nazi practice. Wait for the process,” said one netizen.
Another user said an “old lady” should “appease, not ember,” after the election. “Sad to see that. Democracy is everyone’s right to choose who to vote for, some vote for Lula, some vote for Bolsonaro, and that’s democracy,” he said.
Supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) have already spoken out in favor of defending identification. One user said the measure would help her “escape” from facilities run by Lula voters.
“The problem is that PT has no business! They don’t really create jobs,” reads another comment.
Regina Duarte spent three months from March to June 2020 in the Culture Secretariat of the Bolsonaro government. She was fired to take over the Cinemateca de São Paulo, but the inauguration never took place.
