The US space agency is giving a preview of the first color images from the space telescope, due to be released next week.
The NASA there’s a new photo this week James Webb released as a preview of the next big first photo in july 12 will do. You can see stars that have dark spots in the center. The other bright objects are galaxies.
According to the researcher, the faintest objects in this image are Jane Rigby those types of faint galaxies that Webb will study in his first year of scientific operation.
“Tempting Intuition”
According to NASA, the image is of Fine Orientation Sensor (FGS). This is used to precisely align the telescope to target objects. Basically, it helps the space telescope to lock onto its targets and stay on track to make its observations. The image consists of 72 shotsrecorded over 32 hours in mid-May.
The FGS snapshot was part of a successfully completed test that took several months to prepare. The purpose of the test was to fix a star and see how well the space telescope could turn on its side in flight.
Find exoplanets and galaxies
The newly released teaser image of stars and galaxies is a “tempting glimpse” of what the telescope’s science instruments will reveal in the coming weeks, months and years, according to the agency. In general, Webb pursues the task of exploring the early universe, tracking exoplanets and galaxies, and unraveling mysteries of space.
