Hugh Jackman has shared a positive update amid his recent skin cancer fears.
The Australian actor, 54, revealed Tuesday he had two biopsies after his doctor noticed “little things” that could possibly be basal cell carcinoma – the most common form of skin cancer.
On Thursday, the Wolverine star was relieved to announce that the biopsies had returned with a negative result.
“My biopsies came back,” he shared on his Instagram Story.
‘Negative!!! Thank you ALL for the love. I feel it!’

The Golden Globe winner also thanked fans and media for spreading awareness.
He also reminded fans to be sun safe no matter the time of year and to “wear high SPF sunscreen.”
In 2017, the Wolverine star had six skin cancers removed from her face over a two-year period. In 2021, after a biopsy on his face, he had an inconclusive result that revealed the worst thing it could be was BCC.

Wearing a bandage over his nose on Tuesday, Hugh shared the news in a video on social media and urged his fans to practice sun protection.
‘Hello folks. So I wanted you to hear it from me, just in case someone sees me on the street or something,” he began.
“I just had two biopsies done. I just saw my doctor, Dr. Airan who is awesome.
“I’ll find out in two or three days, and as soon as I know, I’ll let you know.
“Just a reminder, in the skin cancer world, basal cells are the least dangerous of all.”
Hugh admitted the sunspots he has now removed from his skin are from his time outdoors 25 years ago.
He went on to urge fans, especially ahead of summer in the northern hemisphere, to stay safe in the sun.
“Please wear sunscreen. It’s just not worth it,” he said.
“No matter how much you want to tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.”
The Greatest Showman star added: “Put on some sunscreen. You’re still going to have an amazing time out there, okay? Please be careful.’

In his caption, Hugh explained how openly he’s spoken about his fear of skin cancer in the past, adding that it doesn’t bother him as long as it reminds people to wear sunscreen.
“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinoma before. I’ll keep talking about it if I have to,” he wrote.
“And if it reminds just one person to put on high SPF sunscreen, then I’m happy.”
He told ABC News in 2015 that his childhood was “all outdoors” and that protective ointments like sunscreen weren’t a priority in his family.
“I don’t think my dad or mom ever bought it or made us wear it,” he said.
“What I remember best was the rule of being outdoors was that you weren’t allowed to swim within half an hour of eating… and that’s not true.”
