As dissatisfaction continues in Griffintown, where many residents complain about the noise caused by the work and the passage of REM trucks, the Caisse de dépôt etplacement du Québec (CDPQ) is currently collecting new noise data.

Local residents interviewed by TVA Nouvelles can no longer take the uproar caused by the public transport project.
“I’m looking for a place to move because the REM and the construction work is too much for me and my dog,” says a local resident.
“Now that it’s started, I’m really glad I made the decision to move,” adds another woman.
These statements complement the statements of other citizens who have expressed themselves in this regard in recent weeks.
For this reason, a second noise data collection is underway in the industry.
Once this data is available, the Caisse de Depot et Placement will decide whether to take new measures to mitigate the impact on residents.
In view of the upcoming commissioning of the REM, an extensive advertising campaign was launched to promote it.
A total of 542,000 US dollars will be invested.
“The messages can be found on billboards on trains and stations, in bus stops, on online platforms, on social media and on the radio,” CDPQ Media Advisor Kate Monfette said in an email.
“Our goal is to encourage people to use this new sustainable mode of transport. To do this, they need to be informed and mobilized,” she adds.
