Renatinho Bokaloka
Renatinho Bokaloka, lead singer of the pagoda group Bokaloka, died on January 5 at the age of 48. He died as a result of cardiogenic shock/acute myocardial infarction.

Roberto Dinamite
Former footballer Roberto Dinamite, Vasco da Gama's top scorer in history, died on January 8 at the age of 68. He has been fighting colon cancer since the end of 2021.

Cindy Mendes
Cindy Mendes, singer and actress who starred in the series and film “Antônia,” also died on January 8 in São Paulo. She was 34 years old and died of cardiac arrest after being hospitalized with pneumonia for a week.

Lisa Marie Presley
Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley's only daughter, died on January 12th at the age of 54. She was hospitalized after a cardiac arrest and died as a result of a small bowel obstruction caused by a previous operation.

Ilya Sao Paulo
Ilya São Paulo, who became known nationwide for his role in “Irmãos Coragem,” a 1995 remake produced by TV Globo, died on January 31 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 59. Her last work on television was in “Amor de Mãe” by Manoela Dias in 2020.

Gloria Maria
Gloria Maria, one of the biggest names in Brazilian journalism, died on February 2 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 73. She was a victim of cancer, which she had been suffering from since 2019.

Naninho Luiz
Nandinho Luiz, musician of the group “Vício de Samba”, died on February 26th following a stroke. He was 35 years old.

Paulo Caruso
Paulo Caruso, one of Brazil's greatest cartoonists, died on March 4 at the age of 73. The artist was admitted to the 9 de Julho Hospital in the capital São Paulo and was suffering from cancer.

Antonio Pedro
Actor, director and screenwriter Antônio Pedro died on March 12 at the age of 82. The cause of death was kidney and heart failure. His last soap opera on TV Globo was “Bom Sucesso” in 2019.

Canisso
Canisso, bassist of the group “Raimundos”, died on March 13th at the age of 57. The musician died as a result of a severe heart attack.

Juca Chaves
Juca Chaves, comedian and composer, died on March 25 at the São Rafael Hospital in Salvador at the age of 84. He had heart problems and was in the hospital for 15 days.

Eraldo Fontiny
The comedian Eraldo Fontiny, famous for several humorous works on television, died on May 6 at the age of 41. The artist, who became known nationwide for the dissolute character Lili with the catchphrase “My mother is leaving,” died as a result of a sudden illness.

Palmirinha Onofre died on May 7th at the age of 91. The chef and presenter died as a result of worsening chronic kidney disease.

Rita Lee, the queen of Brazilian rock, died on May 8 at the age of 75. The singer was in poor health following cancer treatment.

David Miranda
David Miranda, former federal representative from Rio de Janeiro, died on the morning of May 9th at the age of 37. The politician had been in intensive care since August 2022 when he was admitted to hospital with severe abdominal pain and was later diagnosed with a widespread gastrointestinal infection.

Ana Paula Borgo, former volleyball player for the Brazilian national team, died on May 11 at the age of 29. She died of stomach cancer, diagnosed in September 2022.

Carlos Eduardo de Oliveira Fernandes, known as Kadu Fernandes, former Vasco player, died in a traffic accident in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of May 22, aged 28.

Tina Turner, American singer considered the world's queen of rock n' roll, died on May 24 at the age of 83. She died of natural causes.

Luiz Schiavon
Luiz Schiavon, founder and keyboardist of the band RPM, died on June 15th at the age of 64. He had been battling an autoimmune disease for four years and was unable to survive complications from the last surgery he underwent.

Composer, music producer and singer Paulo Debetio, known as the composer of several MPB hits, died in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of June 19 at the age of 77. He suffered a cardiac arrest.

Paulo Roberto Martins, the walrus
The band's former sports commentator, Paulo Roberto Martins, better known as Morsa, died on June 19 at the age of 78. According to family members, the journalist (18) felt ill on Sunday and had to be taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with an incipient heart attack. He underwent angioplasty but did not survive.

Joao Donato
Renowned singer and composer João Donato died in the early hours of July 17 at the age of 88. The artist, who had already been diagnosed with pneumonia, died due to a series of health problems.

Jazz icon Leny Andrade died on July 24th at the age of 80. The artist was recovering from pneumonia but couldn't resist when her condition worsened.

Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor, who gained worldwide fame in the 1990s with the overwhelming success of her rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U”, originally written by singer Prince, died on July 25 at the age of 56. She struggled internally with mental health issues.

American actor Angus Cloud, famous for his role as Fezco in the HBO series Euphoria, died of an accidental overdose on July 31. He was only 25 years old.

Aracy Balabanian
Aracy Balabanian, one of the greatest veteran actresses on Brazilian television, died on August 7 in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 83. The artist was diagnosed with lung cancer at the end of 2022.

Aderbal FreireFilho, husband of actress Marieta Severo, died on August 9 at the age of 82. He was a theater director, actor and television presenter who had been struggling with health complications since 2020 due to a hemorrhagic stroke.

MC Katia
One of the pioneers of Rio Funk, MC Katia, died on August 13th at the age of 47. She had been hospitalized at the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital since July to have a fibroid removed from her uterus, but suffered complications such as thrombosis and developed pneumonia in the last days of her life.

Actress Léa Garcia died of a heart attack on August 15 at the age of 90. His last work on the small screen was Independências (2022), a series on TV Cultura.

MC Marcinho, famous for the hits “Rap do Solitário”, “Princesa”, “Glamurosa” and “Garota Nota 100”, died on August 26th due to complications from heart problems. He was 45 years old.

Walewska Oliveira, Olympic champion on the Brazilian volleyball team, died on September 21 after falling from the 17th floor of a building in São Paulo. She died at the age of 43.

Michael Gambon, the actor who brought the second Albus Dumbledore to life in the Harry Potter film series, died on September 28 at the age of 82.
