Remembering 2023: the “lost stars” of the celebrity world

Throughout 2023, there have been notable deaths of celebrities from film, television, theater and music. The first notables in the 2023 gallery are Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte, Jeff Beck, Robbie Robertson and David Crosby.

Also Oscar and Tony winners Alan Arkin and Glenda Jackson, Oscar and Grammy winner Burt Bacharach, Oscar winner William Friedkin, Grammy legend Tony Bennett, Emmy nominee Matthew Perry, Emmy Norman Lear, Emmy winner Andre Braugher and Emmy winner Ron Cephas Jones with rock legend Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley and actresses Melinda Dillon, Raquel Welch, Annie Wersching and Cindy Williams.

Exactly on Wednesday, South Korean actor Lee Sun-kyun, a cast member of the Oscar-winning film “Parasites,” was found dead while under investigation in a case of suspected drug use, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Lee, 48, was found unconscious in a car parked in a park in central Seoul at 10:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday (1:30 GMT), the aforementioned media reported.
