Vienna (OTS) – Austria continues to block the accession of Romania and Bulgaria to Schengen, despite both countries having met all requirements for this since 2011. The veto harms both Austria and the European Union as a whole.
Before the Council of Interior Ministers meets again in Brussels on Tuesday, NEOS foreign policy spokesman Helmut Brandstätter, Bulgarian MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk (MRF) and Romanian MEP Vlad Botos (USR) invite you for a photo and video campaign in front of Interior. Ministry on Monday. They will call on Austria’s federal government to urgently end its veto and explain the disadvantages of stubbornly insisting on doing so – and what advantages Bulgaria and Romania would have if they joined Schengen.
