Singer Renatinho, lead singer of the group Bokaloka, died this Thursday (5) at the age of 48. after suffering a heart attack during a concert yesterday at the Bar do Zeca in Rio de Janeiro. He was admitted to the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital and later transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology.
The press office of GRShows, which is responsible for the musician’s concert schedule, confirmed the death in a publication on social networks:
“It is with great regret that we announce this afternoon the death of singer Renatinho, lead singer of the group BokaLoka, as a result of cardiogenic shock following an acute myocardial infarction. Renatinho was hospitalized at Hospital Lourenço Jorge and transferred to the National Institute of Cardiology in Rio de Janeiro to undergo a procedure to detect obstruction of the coronary arteries. His death was confirmed at 5:38 p.m. today. The samba community is in mourning and at this moment we ask for prayers and strength for the artist’s family, friends and fans,” the statement said.
This would be the second time the artist has suffered a heart attack. In May last year, Renatinho Bokaloka suffered the same thing and underwent rushed surgery in Paris.
