A few days before Halloween, the St-Denis Theater swapped the traditional red carpet for an ebony carpet for the musical’s premiere The Addams Family. The motto for the invited artists and personalities is: Wear your most beautiful black dresses.
Many of them therefore accepted director René Simard’s invitation to get back in touch with Gomez, Morticia and Co. This time the famous Addams clan is reunited on stage to celebrate their traditional annual family festival.
The characters of “The Addams Family,” brought to the screen by filmmaker Barry Sonnenfeld in 1991, were first born in the pages of The New Yorker in the 1930s. Gomez, Morticia and their gang finally made the jump to the Broadway stage in 2010 with headliners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. The Quebec version of the show relies on the presence of Rita Tabbakh (Morticia), Luc Guérin (Gomez), Alexandra Sicard (Mercredi) and Tommy Joubert (Uncle Fétide) as headliners.
