Renee Elise Goldsberry launched a hilarious social media thread after misreading a post by her friend Laura Benanti on Monday.
Laura, 43, who co-stars in upcoming ‘No Hard Feelings’ with Jennifer Lawrence, shared the results of a positive Covid test on social media, writing: ‘Happy New Year? (I tested on ballet day and was negative… I also wore my mask so everyone is safe, don’t worry!)
Apparently Renee only saw the “positive” and “test” part of the message and enthusiastically wrote “AAAAAAH! Congratulations!’ – believe that it is a pregnancy announcement.

After receiving the notifications, the singer-actress – who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role as Wickie Roy in Girls5Eva – wrote back with a hasty apology: “False positive test. Feel better.’
The Gilded Age actress graciously replied: “Bahahahaha! Thank you very much!! I wish it was SAFE the other one! I will hold on to your original happiness!’
