The clock is ticking. But Aaron Rodgers has not yet decided.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Packers quarterback is “really torn”About where he would like to play in 2022. He is currently“ spinning back and forth ”what he wants.
Twenty-two days ago, Rodgers said it would take several weeks and that the decision would come “pretty quickly.”
Current options appear to be Green Bay or Not Green Bay. Before crystallizing a solid and clear destination for Rodgers, he needs to know which teams are available and which are not – and whether the Packers would agree to trade him with one of those teams.
Thus, let’s not rule out the very real possibility that Rodgers knows damn well that he is staying, but that he is currently trying to milk the situation for as much attention as possible. Seriously, Green Bay or Not Green Bay is not a real choice. Come back to us, Ian or Shefty or whatever, when it’s Green Bay vs. Denver or Green Bay vs. Tennessee or Green Bay vs. Miami or Green Bay vs. Indianapolis or Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh or Green Bay vs. Tampa Bay or or Green Bay against San Francisco or Green Bay against any particular NFL city other than Green Bay.
As long as there is no other team that is ready, willing and able to trade for Rodgers, there is nothing to be “really torn”.
