Man, a lot happened last night (November 25, 2023) at Survivor Series in Chicago, right?
WWE teased Randy Orton that he might not return for the War Games main event match, then actually left him behind throughout the match, teased a Money in the Bank cash-in, and then actually had him show up. It was electric!
The fact that they teased this played a role in all the heavy speculation in the fan base that CM Punk could possibly return during the show. When Orton actually arrived and conducted the match, the matter seemed to be over. The copyright logo appeared on the screen, that’s it. Aside from Punk actually showing up to thunderous applause, some people still in the ring were really upset about it, and now everything has changed. It was electric!
Drew McIntyre was caught between those two things.
McIntyre’s story revolves around him being upset that he didn’t get a fair shot because of The Bloodline, and wanting revenge on Jey Uso for giving him that at Clash at the Castle last year had taken a big moment. He joined The Judgment Day to get it.
He ultimately didn’t get it.
As previously mentioned, Orton returned and helped lead the babyface team of Uso, Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins to defeat McIntyre & Judgment Day. Immediately after the game, McIntyre was spotted by fans rushing to the back.
He then also stormed out of the building, according to a report from PW Insider. He was apparently seen “slamming his locker room door” before leaving the arena completely. Combative reiterated this report, stating that he was “visibly upset even backstage” after the show before leaving.
Since this is professional wrestling, the first question that arises is whether this is all part of the plot. That certainly seems to be the case, especially considering that they exist videos They’re floating around on social media and appear to show a cameraman waving at McIntyre before he can be seen storming out. That was just after the finish and just before Punk’s return.
We probably won’t have to wait long to find out if there’s more here.
