Report on the modernization of the Cuban family reunification program

Report on the “modernization” of the Cuban family reunification program Cuban Directory

The United States Embassy in Cuba on Tuesday released information about the Cuban Family Reunification Program (CFRP).

“If you are an applicant with a pending CFRP application, please ensure USCIS has your current contact information.” alarm the diplomatic headquarters.

With that in mind, they recommend updating the address using the online change of address tool at USCIS.

The embassy reported that “the Department of Homeland Security is modernizing relocation processes for Cuba and Haiti.”

“Once completed, they will, on a case-by-case basis, allow those with already approved family applications to enter the United States on temporary residency,” their tweet reads.

Let’s remember that this was one of the new immigration measures announced last April.

The United States government announced that existing family reunification programs for Cuba and Haiti would be modernized and new programs would open for El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Colombia. All this without lifting the humanitarian parole that was introduced in January.

CFRP-CUBA PROGRAM: DATA UPDATE WITH USCIS

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises that changing your United States Postal Service (USPS) address does not automatically change your USCIS address.

As such, they recommend applicants update their mailing address with USCIS to ensure they receive all correspondence and “avoid potential delays related to your case.”

How do I change the mailing address in USCIS? According to the available information, this can be done in two ways:

  • Through the USCIS online account if the applicant submitted the application online, or
  • Submit Form AR-11, Alien Change of Address Card, online at the Change of Address website
