reporter is robbed live on the cell phone broadcast of Bom Dia SP TV

The reporter Beatriz Backes had her cell phone stolen live during Bom Dia São Paulo this Friday (20). The Globo journalist was talking about the situation in the metro when suddenly the mobile phone transmission was interrupted. The presenters Rodrigo Bocardi and Sabina Simonato suspected that the phone might have fallen to the ground, but sources from the TV news on Globo and the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat confirm that it was a robbery.

The specialist was in front of the Luz train station, a rundown area in the center of the capital, informing about the slowness of the subway line 1Blau following a traffic disruption. The reporter was on the sidewalk in front of the train station, showing the Operation Paese (emergency system for public transport system outages) buses when the screen shook and the broadcast stopped.

“What is that? “Did the phone fall?” Bocardi asked as soon as the journalist had disappeared. “I think Bia’s phone fell,” Sabina guessed. “We assume that’s all,” the moderator reflected.

In fact, Beatriz was another victim of the lack of security in São Paulo and ended up being robbed while doing her job. After her cell phone was stolen, the reporter never appeared at the newspaper again. The moderators also did not explain what happened to the colleague.

Watch the moment of the robbery:

On social media, the public demanded that Bom Dia São Paulo’s journalists comment on the professional’s situation. “Sabina, Rodrigo, talk about the reporter! She recorded with her cell phone. Was it just a fall or was it stolen?” Osmar asked Paula.

“The reporter who was in Luz and talked about the metro… Did her cell phone really fall or was it stolen? I had to go to work, someone told me!” asked Daniela Nida.

Beatriz Backes replaces reporter Hermínio Bernardo as head of the city’s public transport sector. The reports on Metrô and CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos) are carried out only with a mobile phone and a microphone provided by Globo itself, and the journalist has no support from a cameraman or onsite production.

The transmission occurs entirely through the professional, who is exposed to violence in the city when they have to travel to areas known to be more dangerous.

O TV news contacted Globo’s press office and the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat to obtain further details about the robbery, but received no response as of the publication of this text. The text will be updated as new information is published.

Other problems

It is not the first time that a Globo reporter has been surprised live with difficult and unusual situations while talking about the São Paulo metro.

In April this year, Bom Dia São Paulo showed the passengers’ situation when the man lost control, insulted Globo and attacked reporter Hermínio Bernardo. “The guy is angry and he’s coming to get it out,” Bocardi complained.

The newspaper showed live images of the confusion at Santo Amaro station on Line 5 of the São Paulo metro, where there were problems. “My God, guys. “Turn up the volume, I want to hear this story,” the moderator asked.

At that moment, the man, who was not identified, approached the station employee. “Here’s the damn Globo, you’ll get it in the ass,” he shot, making offensive gestures with his hands and punching the reporter’s cell phone.

Bocardi was outraged by the passenger’s attitude: “You go too, we have nothing to do with it. You can go.” [as imagens] There. The guy is angry and comes to take it out. We show everyone the problem.” “The anger overcomes everyone there, you want to get to your goal and you can’t.” “People are losing their heads,” explained the editor of the newspaper.
