Restaurant worker treats the homeless like customers offers a table

Restaurant worker treats the homeless like customers, offers a table, a better meal and goes viral

Look what a story! A restaurant worker gave a wonderful welcome to homeless people! He treated the homeless man like a customer, offering him a table and the best dish. What’s more, the employee would pay for the food himself.

What he didn’t know was that the gesture of empathy and solidarity was accompanied in silence by a diner seated at a nearby table.

Ronda Chung was moved by the kindness she witnessed. She made an emotional Facebook post praising El Sur Street Food restaurant. The post quickly went viral and was shared over 3,100 times.

“This person walked in and asked if they had anything to eat that they would be willing to throw to them and the guy behind the counter said he’d be happy to pay for his meal and asked if he’d like to hear some recommendations,” Ronda wrote her post.

Afterwards, the restaurant in Kansas, USA, is praised for hiring the employee.

Kindness gesture details

The customer even said in the Post that the clerk offered the homeless man the best meal in the restaurant “instead of trying to give him cheap things like fries and gravy or a pupusa.”

And don’t stop there. The woman said an El Sur employee went further. “He asked if the guy wanted to eat at a table or if he wanted it wrapped for takeout,” writes Chung.

“When the person said he wanted to make sure he wasn’t in the way of business, the guy behind the counter said I don’t mind you being here and offered a table.”

How great!

“Great food, great people,” she concludes. “This is the Arkansas I want.”

Unfortunately, the employee’s name was not disclosed, but we applaud the boy already standing!

“El Sur Street Food Co. it is the epitome of compassion and local love. This person walked in and asked if they had any food that they would be willing to throw in their way and the guy behind the counter said he’d be happy to pay for his meal and asked if he’d like to hear some recommendations . Right off the bat he offered the huge Con Todo shot instead of trying to give him cheap stuff like chips and salsa or a pupusa. He asked if the guy wanted to eat at a table or if he wanted to pack it for take away and when the person said he wanted to make sure he didn’t get in the way of business the guy behind the counter said I did Didn’t care that you were here and offered a table. Great food great people. This is the Arkansas I want.”
