– WWE Friday Night SmackDown begins with the intro and then the commentators greet us.
– Braun Strowman then takes on Gunther for his title match.

At the end of the game, Gunther Braun carries Strowman, who was on the second rope from the corner, and powerbombs him, followed by the fall for the win.

– We’re reviewing what happened in the Bloodline last week.
– Backstage, Sami Zayn is standing in front of the door of the Bloodline dressing room. Paul Heyman walks out and says he’s the only Bloodline member there, the others aren’t here tonight. He tells Sami Zayn that Roman Reigns wants Zayn to do the job alone tonight.
– Rey Mysterio walks in and tells us that vacations are special, especially when you’ve been away for so many years. But he didn’t have a very good Christmas, Dominik Mysterio tried to ruin it. As a father, it breaks his heart. As a man, he’s had enough of this bullshit! Coming to SmackDown for a fresh start, he knows what will set him back on track: He will attend and win the Royal Rumble! Karrion Kross’ music plays and he arrives accompanied by Scarlett.
Karrion Kross tells Rey Mysterio that he listened backstage as he talked about his goals. Speaking of Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio won it 17 years ago. But that was 17 years ago, so we can calm down. It must have been a special moment for him and his Dominik… well, Kross doesn’t know if it was really special for his son because his father wasn’t around when he was a kid. Who does Rey Mysterio hate the most between Dominik for not growing up like him and himself for not being like his father?
Rey Myserio starts attacking Karrion Kross, putting him in a 619 position. Scarlett goes to the ropes, grabs his leg and Karrion Kross takes the opportunity to put his Kross jacket on Rey Mysterio.
– Behind the scenes, Emma, Liv Morgan and Maxxine Dupri talk about the Royal Rumble. Raquel Rodriguez joins them and says it’s her first Royal Rumble, she’s excited. Liv Morgan hits Raquel Rodriguez and tells her she wants a match tonight, Rodriguez accepts.
Xia Li vs. Tegan Nox
At the end of the game, Tegan Nox made his most brilliant caster on Xia Li and then pinned for the win.

– A video of the Viking Raiders will be broadcast.
– Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are backstage with Adam Pearce. McIntyre says he wants to face the Viking Raiders tonight while Sheamus says they can wait and face the Usos instead. Adam Pearce announces that a tournament will start next week and the winners will get a match for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre will be in this tournament and will face off against the Viking Raiders next Friday.
