Tourisme Montréal also highlights the strong return of 85% of air connections and 50% of ships to the port of Montreal.
The hotel sector, badly hit by the pandemic, has recovered with fervor. The occupancy of the hotels in the metropolis is approaching the values of 2019 with an average of almost 80%.
“After two difficult years for our industry, I am pleased to see tourists returning to Montreal,” said Yves Lalumière, President and CEO of Tourisme Montreal.
The month of July 2022 also stood out in terms of traffic; While total mid-season sales are about 10% above 2019 numbers, July 2022 saw an all-time high of 23%.
