The theme evening returns today with two reports about the figure Martin Luther King in La 2. On Antena 3, the night is busy for another week with the password competition, this time with Jandro, Jorge Blass, La Terremoto de Alcorcón and Raquel Sánchez Silva taking part. Film fans can watch two excellent films: “No” by Pablo Larraín, which is a portrait of the opposition campaign in the 1988 Chilean referendum, and “Man on the Moon” by Milos Forman, about the corroded and tormented television comedian Andy Kaufman.

Pablo Larraín begins a bitter and lucid portrait of the opposition campaign in the 1988 Chilean referendum called by Pinochet, avoiding heroic or sentimental interpretations to present in the eyes of the public a near defeat of utopia. The head of the opposition task makes it clear during the defense that there is no need for an anthem, but rather a catchy melody. Larraín plays with montage in brilliant sound combinations and shoots in the old Umatic format to recreate the aesthetics of the time. A well-rounded and committed work.

On April 4, 1968, Luther King was assassinated by a white supremacist. Later, The Roads to Memphis portrays his executioner Jame Earl Ray, who became the most wanted man in the United States.
