Revolution on Tour the creme de la creme of Quebec

“Revolution on Tour”: the crème de la crème of Quebec dancers

The reunion with the dancers from revolution», Thursday night, at the St-Denis Theater in Montreal, were warmly celebrated by a cheering audience. Numbers presented throughout the show’s three seasons marked the evening, in addition to new original choreographies.

After a very intense first group number, Samuel Cyr presented his famous solo on La bohême by Aznavour, followed by the duo Team White with their choreography on Big Boy by Charlotte Cardin, then the duo Yannick and Éliana, last season’s finalist. who appeared on the scene with Soleil soleil.

Injured, Rahmane is currently absent from performances, so the production had to be revised. Unfortunately, last season’s winning trio of Cindy, Rahmane, and Yoher didn’t take the stage, but since the other two were also solo dancers, they were able to do several numbers, each on their side, as well as an original duet.

moments full of emotions

Dance can transport emotions and the dancers of Révolution have proven that they can make us cry with their choreographies. They returned in particular with the number dedicated to Francesca, Jean-Marc Généreux’s daughter, who was also in the room.

“My daughter has Rett Syndrome which has stolen everything from her. She spoke, she speaks no more; she went, she doesn’t go anymore. But every night as I carry her to her bed, she tells me it’s okay, that in her dreams she’s free to do whatever she wants,” the father said, his throat clenching with emotion.

Yoherlandy then presented his tribute to his late brother, the number that helped him win the season one semifinals. His choreography around a bunk bed remains a symbol of his immense talent.

At the end of several numbers, the screen in the background showed the revolutionary moments that the dancers performed during their performance on TV, a great idea.

The show has fun creating unlikely duos each season. We had the pleasure of seeing Yannick, Éliana and Willow again in their quartet choreography. A moment as beautiful as it is moving.

In the video, Serge Denoncourt also presented his favorites from last season, Break City All Star, who choreographed them with one of the most impressive revolutionary moments of the last three seasons.

reunion

For the second half of the evening, Jean-Marc Généreux settles in the masters’ large armchair installed at the back of the stage to observe the dancers developing in front of him. He gives his comments after each performance. A bit long, which breaks the rhythm and doesn’t add any real value.

Among the numbers that we remember, Alex and Marcio continue the duet on Heart in Teflon, an intense and magnificent choreography. Vincent and Bianca added energy with their wild samba.

Of particular note are Janie and Marcio with their duo with no music, just the sound of their footsteps on the floor. Their symbiosis and grace are simply overwhelming.

“Their bodies scream their passion for dance,” commented Jean-Marc Généreux. You move like the wind, so light, so powerful. This moment of purity and serenity comes at just the right time in a world that really needs it.”

The Willow duo followed with equal grace and intensity.

More than thirty numbers follow one another without downtime. We feel a great cohesion in the squad, who all work in the same direction and with maximum intensity.

Revolution on tour will be showing at Montreal’s St-Denis Theater through May 22nd.
