‘RHOBH’ Recap: Kyle Richards Attributes Slimmed Down Physique to ‘Painful Times’ with Mauricio Umansky

Kyle Richards focused on transforming her body while dealing with several personal issues – including a rocky relationship with Mauricio Umansky.

“When you go through painful times in your life, it changes you as a person,” Richards said Wednesday in a confessional for the season 13 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

The longtime “RHOBH” star explained that in addition to issues with her sister Kathy Hilton and her friends, she also “felt separated from my husband.”

“You have to find an outlet,” she said of her increased exercise regimen. “I feel good about it and I hope so [Mauricio] It does too, because here I am.”

Richards and Umansky sat down for a candid conversation about the status of their relationship after Richards admitted they had a “challenging year together.”

“He worked non-stop, I worked,” she said in a confessional. “If you have to set up a meeting to go over your schedule, you know it’s a problem.”

Umansky, 53, praised his wife, 54, for her body transformation and gushed that she looked “stunning.”

“You’re training like a beast right now, you’re eating well, you’re not drinking, like you’re changing your life,” he told her.

Richards shyly thanked her husband for the compliments as she looked down and fiddled with the hem of her leggings, which drew attention to a crescent moon tattoo and stars on her ankle.

She admitted she “felt disconnected” from Umansky. Bravo The reality TV stars got into a heated conversation about Richards’ newfound love of tattoos. Bravo

“How many tattoos do you currently have?” Umansky asked her.

Richards revealed that she has five tattoos as she showed each of them to Umansky. He looked confused and shocked and admitted he “only knew about three.”

“Well, maybe you should take a closer look at my body,” she joked.

“This is clearly a big symptom of not spending time together,” she added in her confessional. “Years ago he would have noticed a freckle on my body, and now he doesn’t know I have two other tattoos.”

Umansky suggested that five tattoos were “enough,” but Richards didn’t seem to appreciate his comment because she clapped back and said she wanted to “get another one” – “If I want to, I will.”

“I won’t allow that,” Umansky replied firmly.

Richards called the tattoo situation a “big symptom of not spending time together.” Bravo

Richards fired back that he “don’t even know how many” she currently has, and even if he did, it would be “my body.”

“Dear Bean, stop it, you don’t need any more tattoos,” he doubled his words.

Richards, however, tripled down and repeated several times, “You have no choice.”

Richards reiterated that she doesn’t have to explain herself to anyone, including her husband.

“I don’t know. I mean, sometimes you’re married and they can do no wrong, and sometimes they’re breathing and you want to hit him,” she said in a confessional. “Right now I’m irritated.”

Richards then became emotional and told him that she was “at a point in my life” where she no longer has to explain anything to anyone – including you.

“I went from doing everything my mother told me to becoming a mother myself and having to be a good role model for my girls, and I just realized that you can do it all and things still go to shit can.” Richards said with tears in his eyes. “I just don’t feel like I have to answer to anyone.”

Richards ended the conversation by assuring her husband that she was “very clear.” Bravo

Umansky acknowledged his wife’s feelings and said she didn’t have to do that, but she also shouldn’t “become a rebellious person and do it out of rebellion.”

“Listen. I’m completely clear right now. I’m not rebelling. I’m just completely clear,” she said before the episode ended.

Just hours before the episode aired, Richards admitted on Instagram that she was having “difficulty” filming the “challenging” season amid her marital problems with Umansky.

The dramatic trailer showed several of their cast members questioning their relationship and the former couple even having an emotional discussion with their four daughters about the status of their marriage.

“We are a very strong family and always will be. “You know nothing can change this,” Richards said to her daughters, crying.

Richards and Umansky each confirmed separately that they separated less than a month ago after 27 years of marriage.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
