In dialogue with the media Nosso Palestra, The Argentine coach recalled his discreet time at Palmeiras. The former footballer admitted the mistakes he made at Verdao and stressed that he likes the idea of directing Brazilian football again.

After confirmation of departure from Guillermo Barros Schelotto, The Paraguayan press named Ricardo Gareca as one of the candidates to take over from Albirroja in the middle of the 2026 South American qualifiers. They even mentioned the salary he would have demanded.
“Ricardo Gareca would have demanded five million dollars plus prizes to lead the Paraguayan team.” said journalist Luis Enrique of Paraguay’s Deporte Total.
