Richard Franklin dies at the age of 87 Splash

He is best known for his role as Captain Mike Yates in the Doctor Who series in the 1970s. Franklin also starred in the British soap operas Crossroads and Emmerdale. He also played one of the Death Star engineers in the 2016 film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” his final work.

Sadly, Richard died in his sleep after suffering from a chronic illness. We are deeply saddened by his passing and will fondly remember his generosity, creative spirit and fantastic storytelling ability. He will also be remembered for his long career in television and theater, where he charmed audiences of all ages. This brought him great joy and we know his legacy will last.
