The Giffoni International Festival is a children’s film festival that has been held every June since 1971. Over 2,000 children from around the world participate to learn filmmaking skills and judge each other’s work.

Earlier in the evening, the star took the stage to be honored with the Giffoni Experience Award.
He told the young participants: “I am sure that in the future I will work with someone who is here in this room”.
“Working here was one of the best experiences of my career. And I’m not just saying it because the food is good, or rather too good, but also because tricolor productions are the most prone to improvisation and the most adept at problem solving.

He continued: “If you consider the American ones instead, the tone is completely different: everything is classified, meticulous, with countless tests to achieve perfection, but I prefer the Italian method because it represents me the best.”
“When it comes to social inequalities, this festival is on the right track because it brings people from near and far together in one place… social class doesn’t matter here”.
