Having recently brought the story of the Gucci family and that of Napoleon to the big screen, veteran British filmmaker Ridley Scott could be making a film about the Bee Gees.
According to trade site Deadline Hollywood, the 86-year-old director is in talks with studio Paramount Pictures to take on this biographical drama project, which chronicles the rise of the famous 1970s disco group that gave us the hits Stayin' Alive and Night Fever.
We can expect the film's plot to also focus on the group's darker period, particularly the drug and alcohol problems that its founding members, the Gibb brothers, faced.
As a reminder: Ridley Scott (“Alien”, “Gladiator”) had already approached the Gibb brothers in the 1970s to make a film about the history of the Bee Gees. But this first feature film project never saw the light of day.
