College swimming champion Riley Gaines filmed herself being ambushed by screaming trans activists who allegedly physically assaulted her after delivering a speech about saving women’s sports.
A terrified Gaines, 23, was forced to barricade herself in a room on the campus of San Francisco State University last night after a group of activists ambushed her.
Gaines’ husband, Louis Barker, said he had brief conversations with his wife while she was locked in the room for almost three hours.
“She told me she was hit several times by a guy in a dress. I was shaking It made me so angry. It sickens me to feel so helpless about it,” Barker said. “She was under police protection and was still beaten by a man in a dress.”
“Prisoners run the SFSU facility…I was mugged by a man and physically beaten twice,” Gaines wrote in the tweet.
“This is proof that women need gender-protected spaces. But that just confirms to me that I’m doing something right. If they want to shut you up, speak up.’

As she spoke to the students, Gaines’ comments drew a backlash in the form of hysterical screams that drowned out her speech.
“Tonight, Riley Gaines spoke at San Francisco State University to share her personal story of competing against a natural male athlete, Lia Thomas, in the NCAA women’s swimming championships last year,” said Eli Bremer, agent of Gaines, in a lengthy statement to Fox News Digital.
“For the past year, her goal has been to speak at universities to educate her peers about her experience and how the growing number of biological males in women’s sport will impact the integrity of Title IX. She has been asked many times about her views in a polite and somewhat rude manner, and she strongly encourages different viewpoints and debates on the subject.

“Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, yelled at, physically assaulted and barricaded in a room by protesters. It is amazing that in America in 2023 it would be acceptable for biological male students to violently assault a woman for standing up for women’s rights.
“This will not stop Riley from boldly educating people about the dangers of biological males in women’s sports. She will continue to speak the truth against the radical left that no longer understands the difference between men and women.’
The university’s student-run newspaper, Golden Gate Xpress, featured a small protest that surfaced Thursday night before Gaines arrived.
Additional footage showed the protest growing in size.
The chaos culminated to the point where Gaines had to be escorted out of the room and down a hallway by police, and then barricaded in another room.
When she was moved to a safer location, protesters were captured chanting “Go the hell home” and “Trans women are women” as they placed transgender flags on walls.

Some images were shared by the outlet showing members of TPUSA staff being stopped and escorted out of the venue during the protests.
Assistant Dean of Studies Chris Trudell was reportedly seen handling the situation and attempting to de-escalate tensions.

In a statement to Fox, a TPUSA spokesman said the counter-protest to Gaines’ speech was “organized by SFSU’s Queer and Trans Resource Center.”
The spokesman said the rowdy protesters outside the room “fell in when the event was over”.
Gaines, a 12-time All-American swimmer, became a national figure after publicly opposing trans swimmer Lia Thomas’ participation in women’s sports.
Many athletes, such as Nancy Hogshead-Makar, have warned that biological males have a clear competitive advantage over biological females.
The San Francisco Police Department and SFSU did not immediately respond to Fox News’ requests for comment on the situation.
