“I cried my eyes out in the scene where my mother died at the age of fifty-three from fear that something would happen to my father.” Rita Dalla Chiesawho was interviewed by the weekly newspaper Di Più Tv, spoke about the Rai 1 fiction “Our General” which tells the story of his father, Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, and especially the moment when the special anti-terrorist unit was set up to deal with the Red Brigades. The fiction, scheduled to air at the start of the season, has been pushed back to January, but the Forza Italia MP was able to catch a preview.
Dalla Chiesa said she really appreciates the resulting product: “Precise information, perfect chronologies”. And then he revealed: “Simona Ercolani, the producer, was by my side and He shook my hand the whole time“. It is not the first time that the general’s life and work has been featured on television. In fact, a movie and mini-series have already been made about his story. But this fiction is important because, as his daughter explains, “it tells of his real victory, the defeat of terrorism. A subject that is seldom dealt with in textbooks”.
Dalla Chiesa revealed that she had met some fictional actors before filming began. Particularly Sergio Castellitowho invited her to his home, and Teresa Saponangelo, who plays his mother. The two met in a bar in Rome. To which the deputy said: “When she entered, my heart sank, she had already absorbed everything from mom.” Finally, a comment goes to actress Camilla Semino Favro, who plays Rita at a young age: Excited because she made me do it to reflect on myself as a young man”.
