The images were not previously published because they did not fit into the standard edition of the book, which became an editorial success in the country in 2016.
One of the pictures shows the singer with her husband Roberto de Carvalho, posing on an already opened section of the wall. In the other case, the Queen of Rock is at other people’s sides and helps with dismantling.
In the work, Rita Lee talks about her adventure in Berlin, Germany.
“(…) The film director Cacá Diegues invited me to play the fictional character Mary Shadow, a kind of Lucille Ball in an American canned series like ‘Dorian Family’, which was part of the film. Caliber cast in ‘Better Days Will Come’ ‘ and I was there, as a newbie to the addiction. The one who played the role of my ‘speaker in Portuguese’ was ‘the one and only’, Marília Pêra. For the soundtrack, Rob and I wrote the theme song and the “opening” of the American series “The Mary Shadow”. Cacá was nominated for the Berlin Film Festival and part of the cast came together to represent Brazil. (…)”
We woke up to honking and screaming: The Berlin Wall was being destroyed with the first breakers. We from the cast went there to help with the hammering and I still have little pieces of that beautiful destruction.
