NEW YORK — Anthony Rizzo stood near home plate for a few extra shots to admire the flight of his second home run of the night and put an exclamation point on his “Star Wars Mandalorian” bobble-head evening. In fact, this is the way to go for the bat and the Yankees.

Rizzo put his club on the field with a solo blower in the first inning and then topped the goal with a two-run throw in the eighth inning as the Yankees clinched a 6-5 win over the Rays at Yankee Stadium on Friday night.

Anthony Volpe also hit a home run and hit two runs for the Bombers, who rebounded against their rivals in the American League East after suffering a six-run loss in the series opener.

After a crowd of 46,130 spectators (many in costume) arrived early to collect their prized Rizzo Balls, Yankees starter Gerrit Cole went five innings with two-run ball, conceding solo homers to Randy Arozarena and Jose Siri.

Josh Lowe briefly put Tampa Bay ahead with a three-run home run ahead of Michael King in the eighth, but Rizzo responded by parking a Jason Adam switch 398 feet over the right field wall. Wandy Peralta made his first save of the year in the ninth inning.
