Robert De Niro announced this week that he recently had a baby.
The Godfather actor was asked by an ET Canada reporter what it was like to be a father of six.
At the time, he said he had seven children instead of six, and then shared that he recently welcomed a new child into his life. He did not share the baby’s name or gender.
“I just had a baby,” he said.
The 79-year-old Oscar winner has not revealed the identity of his baby’s mother but has recently been linked to martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen. They were photographed holding hands in July 2022.
His rep confirmed to that De Niro made no mistake and that he does in fact have seven children.

The interview took place this week while promoting his new film About My Father.
ET Canada asked Robert about being a dad, and he shared that he believes in “being with love.” [his] Children”, but said that you have to “be strict about things”.
He continued, “I mean, with kids, there’s no getting away from it. I don’t like having to legislate and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] You just don’t have a choice.
“And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing with the kids and tell them what’s right when they’re not, but sometimes you can’t.”
The interviewer then said, “I know you have six children,” and Robert added, “Seven, actually.”
Then he dropped his bombshell: “I just had a baby.”
In 2018 he split from his 20-year-old wife Grace Hightower.
Robert has two children: Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46, with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott.
And he has two other children with Grace: Elliot, 25, and Helen, 11.
He is the father of twins Aaron and Julian, 27, with his former girlfriend Toukie Smith.
His divorce from Hightower was very controversial.
The ex-spouses have been in a fight since December 2018.
In April, a judge ruled that his ex-wife, 66, should receive $1 million annually and that the couple will split the proceeds after the sale of their $20 million home.

Robert and Grace married in 1997, separated in 1999, then reunited and renewed their vows in 2004 before filing for divorce in 2018.
Initially, the two fought over custody of their child, but now money and property are at stake.
Hightower’s average monthly spend was $215,000 per month on credit cards and $160,000 in cash. De Niro’s attorney, Caroline Krauss, claims the financial strain means the actor is running out of money.

She said the coronavirus pandemic has caused work projects for the Hollywood star to dry up.
Months earlier, De Niro earned $5 million for his role in Martin Scorsese’s hit gangster film The Irishman. He also received “tens of millions of dollars” from a federal coronavirus relief program.
Hightower claims De Niro is worth $500 million, but his attorney Caroline Krauss says his estranged wife’s extravagant lifestyle makes things worse.
