He may play a superhero on screen, but the Iron Man actor admits he needs a little help getting into real life. “I stand up and kneel down. I say one or more prayers, mostly out of gratitude. Then I'll go have a coffee,” the Oscar nominee for “Oppenheimer” told People.
“It's partly thanks to coffee that I stay sane,” the 58-year-old actor added. And he had the bright idea to turn it into a business.
Robert Downey Jr. had a clear vision of what he wanted for his company when he started building it two years ago: that it cover all facets of coffee, selling everything from the whole bean to the coffee pod, without investing in either Mass to forfeit sales or crafts. He worked with Craig Dubitsky, a successful entrepreneur whose previous companies included EOS lip balm and Hello dental products.
Through their market research, they realized the scale of the problem and the niche that the new Happy Coffee brand could fit into. “The industry has gotten so big,” says Robert Downey Jr. “But we realized that there are either products that taste like pencil shavings or products that have passed through the “small intestine of a yak.”
Happy Coffee is presented in futuristic and ergonomic pods. The coffee blends come in a variety of roasts with cheerfully named flavor profiles, including “unexpected notes of cocoa and contentment,” “notes of cashews and exhilaration,” and “toasted biscotti and lightness.” » Prices start at $10.
Both men said they didn't want to come across as coffee snobs, but simply as coffee lovers. “We didn't want to be baristacrats, we invented that word. “We didn’t want to be snobbish,” explains Craig Dubitsky. It was important for us to create something that enriches everyday life.”
With Happy Coffee we should definitely get off to a good start as soon as we wake up!
