Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says he “hopes” Woody Harrelson will now support his 2024 campaign and rules out becoming Trump’s vice president as he and fellow veteran Democrat Marianne Williamson attend the Iowa State Fair

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Saturday he “hopes” actor Woody Harrelson will now support his bid for the 2024 White House and ruled out becoming former President Donald Trump’s vice president when he appears at the Iowa State Fair .

Kennedy and his presidential nominee Marianne Williamson were the two Democrats attending this year’s fair, which took place back-to-back on Saturday afternoon at the Des Moines Register’s Political Soapbox.

With President Joe Biden in the White House — and skipping the fair because of Rehoboth Beach — much of the political attention at the fair was focused on Republicans vying for their party’s nomination.

But Kennedy’s speech in particular drew crowds of Trump supporters who had earlier spoken across the street, shouting “Trump-Kennedy!” and “Drain the swamp!”

Kennedy, an environmental advocate-turned-prominent anti-vaccination activist, subsequently told reporters he “won’t” become Trump’s vice president.

However, he was more optimistic about gaining some more star power.

Kennedy is married to Curb Your Enthusiasm actress Cheryl Hines.

On Friday she posted a picture with Harrelson – and he was wearing a Kennedy hat.

When asked by on Saturday if he’d landed another famous supporter, the contestant replied: “I hope so.”

“My wife did a podcast with him. And she gave him a hat at the beginning of the podcast and said, “Are you going to take it off now that we’re doing it?” “He said no,” Kennedy said.

“You know, he’s very hard to reach on a cell phone,” Kennedy said of Harrelson as well. “Because he doesn’t use cell phones.”

Both Kennedy and Williamson have the disadvantage that another Democrat already resides in the White House.

Democratic presidential nominee Marianne Williamson confirmed that the Democratic National Committee had told her there would be no primary debates against President Joe Biden, but said she was able to use TikTok to reach some voters

Williamson confirmed Saturday that the Democratic National Committee has informed her campaign that there will be no Democratic primary debates, which is standard practice when running for an incumbent president.

She said that while she’s being ignored by a lot of mainstream media, she’s finding success on TikTok, which is why her strongest numbers come from the country’s youngest voters.

“They support me because they hear me,” she said. “And they hear me because they’re on TikTok.”

“So if you’re young, I have access to you and it doesn’t cost any money,” she continued. “If you’re older, you probably get your political information from MSNBC, CNN, etc.,” she said, where she was “pressured.”

Biden was represented at the fair on opening day by Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who appeared Thursday along with Iowa Democratic Party Chairwoman Rita Hart.

Walz expressed that he was not disappointed that Biden would not be attending the fair this year.

“I think the President is all over the place. “I know Vice President Harris was here two weeks ago, I think you’re going to see a lot of deputies,” he said.

When asked if he was concerned that Kennedy and Williamson would represent the party at the fair, he firmly said no.

“We have some concerns about the fact that Robert Kennedy Jr. has made some anti-Semitic comments,” Hart interjected.

Kennedy once quoted Anne Frank and suggested that Jews had more freedoms during the Holocaust than the unvaccinated during the pandemic.

He recently said that COVID had been “ethnically targeted” to spare Jews and Chinese.

“But you know, Iowa is again very proud of the state fair tradition and welcoming everyone,” Hart said.
