Robert Irwin led Australia’s Father’s Day celebrity celebrations on Sunday by sharing a never-before-seen video of himself as a baby with his late father Steve.
The 19-year-old conservationist shared the rare footage on Instagram, which shows Robert as a toddler going on a nature hike with his father and sister Bindi.
Steve is seen lovingly guiding Bindi and Robert through the bush before the footage shows him gently lifting his son onto his shoulders.
“Today is Father’s Day here in Australia.” Days like this are full of different emotions. “Most of all I want to make it a happy day to remember the best moments with the best daddy,” Robert wrote alongside the footage.
Steve, known as “The Crocodile Hunter”, died on September 4, 2006, aged 44, after being stung in the chest by a stingray while filming a wildlife documentary called “Ocean’s Deadliest” in Queensland.
