Robert Plant surprises by explaining why he refuses to return with Led Zeppelin Igor Miranda

Led Zeppelin last met in 2007 and brought in Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, on drums. Since then, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones are leaning toward a definitive comeback, but the stumbling block is vocalist Robert Plant.

Even 15 years after the last show, the artist is repeatedly asked about a possible comeback by the band, which was his big musical partner in recent years at the end of the 1960s.

When asked about the possibility of working with Led Zeppelin again to please fans, the singer surprised with the tone of his answer, although he wasn’t shocked by the content.

“Going back to the source to get some kind of massive applause it doesn’t really satisfy my need to be stimulated.”

Next, the interviewer wanted to know if Plant wasn’t making him “outside the curve” compared to other colleagues who are still carrying on with their old bands decades later. The singer replied:

“I know there are people of my generation who don’t want to stay at home and end up going out to play. If they’re enjoying themselves and doing whatever it takes to get them through their days, that’s their problem.”

More arguments from Robert Plant

It’s not due to a lack of warning: Robert Plant always makes it clear in interviews when asked that he has no intention of resuming Led Zeppelin’s activities. He even told Esquire in 2018:

“If I didn’t (challenge the public and himself with his solo career) I would be a whore and I never will be. I’m just a singer who gets bored very easily. And if I’m like that, what do I do with almost 70 years old who are bored? No chance. I keep going all the time. My time must be filled with fun, effort, humor, strength and absolute selfrealization.”

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph in 2017, he explained:

“You can’t go back. It’s hard to keep repeating yourself with something done a year ago, let alone 49 years ago. I have to move on”

The Last Reunion of Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin last played together in 2007 on the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Show, the show that was released on CD and DVD in 2012 as Celebration Day.
