Journalist Roberto Kovalick, 58, host of the Hora 1 news program on TV Globo, is recovering from pneumonia at home. He was replaced by journalist Ana Paula Campos in the attraction, which airs Monday through Friday and opens the station’s schedule at 4 a.m.

The information was confirmed by columnist Cristina Padiglione of Folha de S. Paulo. It was also announced that in March, Kovalick started preparations for the competition in São Silvestre later this year. As part of the project, a series for Hora 1 was created with tips on nutrition and physical preparation as well as training supervised by specialists.

Pneumonia forced the journalist to temporarily abandon the studio and training for the marathon. According to the column, he is forecast to recover in time to return next Monday the 12th.

During the carnival, Kovalick paused his carnival vacation to cover the floods and landslides in São Sebastião on the São Paulo coast where he was staying. Now on another long holiday he will be bedridden with pneumonia.
