A Ukrainian government building was partially destroyed when it was hit by a missile in another alleged Russian attack amid the conflict between the two countries.

Enerhodar’s security cameras recorded the exact moment the building was struck by the artifact.

The pictures show the intact building, a flash and the destruction after the attack.

Air raids and power outages

Ukraine issued a nationwide airstrike alert Thursday morning that ended after about an hour and a half.

The alert went off as of 10:16 a.m. (local time), except in the Crimea region, which is temporarily occupied by Russian forces, Ukrainska Pravda newspaper reported.

Ukrainian authorities explained that the alarm was triggered after Russian military planes took off from the territory of Belarus.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry, for its part, said the action was allegedly a “planned patrol of the country’s air borders”.

The highperformance MiG31K fighter, theoretically capable of carrying the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, stayed in the air for about an hour and a half. The plane was accompanied by two other fighter jets, which took off from Baranovichi airfield.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said authorities in the Ukrainian capital had imposed a blackout to save energy and “prevent accidents.”

Ukrainian energy company Ukrenergo had earlier this week confirmed the possibility of such blackouts, especially after Russian attacks on “the energy infrastructure in the central and northern regions” of the country.

Internet connectivity has dropped to around 80% of normal levels in the Kyiv area. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the population to limit electricity consumption.

“We will certainly do everything we can to restore our country’s normal energy capacities, but it will take time. Please do not connect unnecessary devices and limit power consumption to those devices that require a lot of energy,” stressed the President.
