The capital is under renewed attack on the day of the arrival of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who has come to speak with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the possible evacuation of the Azovstal Steel Plant and the liberation of civilians from Mariupol.

The first reports speak of two rockets hitting the Shevchenko district and according to the spokesman for the rescue service (Ses) Svitlana Vodologa there are casualties, but it is not yet clear how many. One of the missiles would have hit an unspecified sensitive target, the other a nearby apartment building. The coup went towards the first floors and there are always people on the upper floors, said the SE spokesman. The Ukrinform agency also reports that there will be victims, but does not say how many there are.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke of the injured on Telegram. The lower floors of an apartment building in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district were hit. Rescuers and doctors are on site. Surrounding houses are also inspected and people are taken out. So far, according to the social network channel, there are three injured who have been hospitalized.
