Roman Reigns exits Elimination Chamber as champion Montez Ford steals the show

Roman Reigns’ empire extended to Montreal on Saturday when he retained his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Sami Zayn in the Elimination Chamber.

Zayn had all the momentum going into the match. He was welcomed to his hometown as he came down the ring. He managed to overcome all of Reigns’ taunts and brought the champion to the brink of defeat with multiple Helluva Kicks and a Blue Thunder Bomb.

During the game, two umpires were knocked down twice and Jimmy Uso intervened, superkicking Zayn multiple times. Jey Uso returned to stop Reigns from hitting Zayn with a chair. However, in the end, Zayn impaled him and was still hit by chair shots.

Several near misses and Superman punches later, Reigns left Montreal viewers stunned as he pinned Zayn in the ring.

To prevent another beatdown, Kevin Owens came to the ring and stunned Reigns and Paul Heyman. Owens also bombarded Jimmy Uso through the announce booth.

At the end of the night it was still Reign’s court and he will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and earns a shot at the Undisputed Universal Championship.

Reigns has held the WWE Title for over 900 days.

While Reigns proved to be the top dog, Montez Ford showed star potential during the Elimination Chamber match for the United States Championship.

Ford showed his high-flying skills during the night. He climbed to the top of the Fang, hanging in the air by his feet, and jumped down to knock down all his competitors. He later went back and forth with Austin Theory and Seth Rollins, jumping off the ropes and flipping them over to hit the competitors who were outside the ring.

Ford drew a ton of praise for his performance on social media and was said to be fine after it was revealed he had been injured at the end of the game. But the umpires, who left the door open, ignited the program between Logan Paul and Rollins. Paul would interfere in the match and allow Theory to get the upper hand.

Theory won the match and retained the United States Championship.
