BUCHAREST, Jan 15 (Portal) – Romanian authorities said 18 million lei ($3.95 million) worth of goods and money were stolen in a criminal investigation into alleged human trafficking that led to the arrest of divisive internet personality Andrew Tate dollars) confiscated.

Over the past week, the National Agency for the Management of Confiscated Assets has placed under management 29 movable assets, including luxury vehicles and watches, as well as various amounts of cash in various currencies, it said in a statement late Saturday.

On Saturday, a Portal reporter saw several cars, including a Rolls-Royce, a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz, being picked up from Tate’s compound on the outskirts of the capital Bucharest and transported to a storage location.

Andrew Tate, his brother and two Romanian suspects were arrested on December 29 on charges of forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit six women. They have denied wrongdoing.

The detainees challenged their 30-day arrest warrant, but Bucharest’s Court of Appeal this week rejected the challenge, saying they should remain in police custody.

Andrew Tate, a former contestant on British reality show Big Brother, rose to fame for his misogynist language and hate speech.

His comments resulted in his being banned from all major social media platforms, although his Twitter account became active again in November after Elon Musk took over the platform.

Tate, who has US and British citizenship, said women are partly responsible for rapes and that they belong to men.
