Romanian authorities seize several luxury cars owned by Andrew Tate

Romanian authorities confiscated luxury cars from the home of alleged rapist and sex trafficker Andrew Tate on Saturday.

A Rolls-Royce, a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz were stolen along with other cars from the property on the outskirts of the capital Bucharest, Portal reported.

Romanian police searched seven homes Thursday as part of their investigation into Tate, a social media influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist. The raid came a day after Tate lost a bid to get back previously confiscated assets, including his cars.

US-born Tate, 36, remains in custody following his December 29 arrest and faces a string of serious sex crimes charges. He was arrested along with his brother and two Romanian women. They have denied wrongdoing.

Prosecutors told Portal earlier this week that they had seized 15 luxury vehicles and more than 10 properties and homes linked to the suspects in a bid to prevent the assets from being sold or hidden.

In early January, authorities confiscated 11 luxury cars owned by Tate and his brother, including a $2.9 million Bugatti Chiron that Tate used to mock Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Officials said they could use the confiscated assets to “cover the costs of the investigation and damage to the victims” if prosecutors can show the Tates made money from human trafficking.
