Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially announced his candidacy for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in the 2024 US election. DeSantis announced his candidacy during an interview that took place on a Twitter space with the social network’s billionaire owner, Elon Musk. The announcement of DeSantis’ candidacy was delayed by half an hour due to multiple technical glitches and broadcast failures at the Twitter Live event.
Governor Ron DeSantis: “There is no substitute for victory.” We must end the loser culture that has infected the Republican Party in recent years. The tired dogmas of the past are not enough for a lively future. We have to look ahead, not back.”
