EXCLUSIVE: Ross Lynch reveals what he REALLY thinks of these viral TikToks in which he appears shirtless – as he prepares for a tour of Australia
Ross Lynch returns to Australia with his latest project The Driver Era, playing sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne this week with brother Rocky.
The 26-year-old child star recently made headlines when a series of photos of him performing shirtless with his brother went viral on TikTok.
Speaking to Chron Australia on Tuesday, the American singer laughed at the excitement and admitted: “It’s kind of funny. I just sort of giggled about it.’

“The shirtless trend on TikTok is like … I just find it kind of funny, but our shows are so much fun because we try to have the most fun possible on stage,” he explained.
Ross continued, “Honestly, the funny thing is, it’s not like an every night thing. Like I’ll just do it when it feels right. How it has to be at the moment.
“After that trending TikTok video, the crowd started chanting ‘take it off, take it off,’ almost every night, but that’s not really the idea.
“The idea is that if it’s a really hot show, everyone has a good time. I try to be thoughtless.

“I think that carries over between us and our and our fans,” he continued.
“As everyone knows, tonight is a celebration. We’re here to celebrate life, we’re here to have a good time – let’s fricking boogie.’
Elsewhere during the interview, Ross said he rarely goes back to listen to music he’s released and is always thinking about what’s next.
“You know, very rarely do I go back and listen to songs that we’ve released. Sometimes you just get the urge to say, “I’m going to check this out” and all that stuff, but mostly when we’re releasing music we’re almost always looking for what’s next.”
In 2017, he branched out into film, starring in the biopic My Friend Dahmer, in which he played teenager Jeffrey Dahmer, before landing the role of Harvey Kinkle in the 2018 Netflix television series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Ross last toured Australia in 2013, where he headlined shows with his band R5 to promote Disney Channel’s Teen Beach film.

“I am really looking forward to returning to Australia. I wish we had more time down there. I always love Australia, it’s such a wonderful place,” he said.
“I would love to experience more than just playing one show and flying to the next gig. I’d like to make some memories down there.”
Ross will begin his Australian tour in Brisbane on Friday before playing sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne over the weekend.
