The announcement was made in a press release by Kariane Bourassa, MNA for Charlevoix-Côte-de-Beaupré, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Transport and Sustainable Mobility Geneviève Guilbault.
Ms Guilbault says she is relieved to know that users in this sector can regain full mobility.
This relief is also shared by the Mayor of Baie-Saint-Paul, Michaël Pilote, who describes the road as an important artery for the economy of the Charlevoix region.
For her part, Ms Bourassa believes this announcement is an important step towards resuming normal life after the floods.
Entrepreneur Paul Labbé, who manages Laiterie Charlevoix and Le Genévrier campsite, said by phone that work near the bridge spanning the Rivière des Mares was well advanced.
Route 138, also called Monseigneur De Laval Boulevard, had been badly damaged in the flooding in the area. It was closed since May 1st.
According to MTMD, no damage was found during the most recent inspection of the bridge structure. However, major repair work was necessary because the roadway was severely damaged.
Alternating traffic with the help of flags may be necessary to complete the ongoing work.
